The Museum of National Architecture and Urban Life of Gyumri, founded in 1984, has exhibits that show the history of Gyumri, crafts locally made and public and cultural life of the city in the 1872 mansion of the Dzitoghtsyans. The museum is worth visiting not only for the exhibition but also for a very unique and special event – Annual Humor Festival -; Gyumri is famous for the eccentric sense of humor which is often hard for people outside to understand!
Also, you may enjoy the creative initiative started by the museum, called “Art Therapy” that aims at rehabilitation of disabled people. The museum is not only for exhibiting the old history but playing a role as to actively be involved in community development in their unique way. This place should be in your list of places to visit when you have a chance to go to Gyumri.
