A 14th-century Armenian monastic complex located on the slopes of Teksar Mountain of the Vayots Dzor Province is called Spitakavor Monastery. Nearby Spitakavor Monastery is found the town of Yeghegnadzor of Voyots.
The main monument is the Spitakavor Church of the Holy Mother of God. Some of the interesting works to view include the well-defined image in the headstone of the church’s entrance, which is described as “a remarkable example of mid-century Armenian Sculpture” of Mary, a sculpture of Jesus with his disciples and a relief of each and his son.
It is reachable on foot or with a terrain vehicle while the terrain is kind of difficult; approximately 8.4 km from the University of Gladzor’s Museum or Tanahat Monastery and 6 km to the Proshaberd fortress.
