The Cascade whose construction was completed in 1980 is a symbolic stairway leading up to a monument that represents the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Armenia in the Soviet era. The stairs of the Cascade consists of 572 steps – (you may think you have to climb up the stairs all up to the top but there are luckily escalators going up and down!). Inside the Cascade, the Cafesjian Museum of Art can be found.
The most famous part of this place is its view from the top where you can see the overview of the city of Yerevan with Mr. Ararat. The five recessed fountains along the Cascade and sculptures are also recommended to see.
